I found your map examples on the internet in a mind map software survey. They were almost exactly what I was looking for. The look of hand drawn maps are great.

However, after signing up I was flabbergasted to open the application and see this huge, ugly, Microsoft-type ribbon header with ridiculously huge icons. The light blue text on the lighter blue header, along with the low contrast icons make Mapmyself impossible to read and look at.

My suggestion is to [very quickly] dump the ribbon interface, DRASTICALLY reduce the overall size of the header, change the color to gray, replace all the icons with smaller, higher contrast ones.
